<< Back

SAN DIEGO – February 16, 2023 – Continuing its ongoing commitment to supporting skilled trades professionals, WD-40® Brand is partnering with OSHA Education Center, an American Safety Council company, to provide construction professionals and general industry workers nationwide with courses that help them get the job done right.

The affiliated courses, which include aerial and scissor lifts training, OSHA forklift certification, as well as OSHA 10- and 30-hour courses on the basics of occupational safety and health, are federally regulated and developed by American Safety Council. Additionally, a collaborative course exclusive to OSHA Education Center, Industrial Maintenace Training, provides essential training on chemical safety, product formulations and equipment/machine maintenance. These online training programs, and others offered through the partnership, can be found at wd40.com/training. OSHA Education Center handles all registrations and purchases for courses offered on the WD-40 Brand website. Participants who complete the courses will receive a certificate of completion. Those who complete 10- or 30-hour OSHA-authorized training will earn a nationally accepted wallet card from the U.S. Department of Labor.

“WD-40 Brand is dedicated to supporting the next generation of skilled trades professionals and setting them up for success throughout their careers,” said Patricia Olsem, Division President, Americas, at WD-40 Brand. “Product safety and consumer health are our top priorities. All WD-40 Brand products are designed to keep workers safer while prolonging the life of equipment, preventing costly or unscheduled downtime and reducing injuries. This commitment to safety aligns perfectly with the long-standing mission of OSHA Education Center.”

Access to these regulated certifications and OSHA-authorized courses has never been easier — they are 100% online and available 24/7 from any web-enabled device. This provides convenient training options for the growing number of skilled trades professionals seeking solutions that help businesses maintain safer work environments.

“We set the standard for workplace safety, and our sole mission is to assure safe and healthy working conditions for men and women by enforcing that standard through training, outreach, education and assistance,” said Kim Brophy, General Manager, OSHA Education Center. “Our partnership with WD-40® Brand will help expand the base of skilled-trades professionals who are well-equipped to identify, predict and avoid hazards in the workplace.”

“At American Safety Council, we agree that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and improve,” said CEO John Comly. “Collaborating with WD-40 Brand to support the skilled trades industry accelerates our ability to reach these professionals and help give them the confidence to open the door to what’s next.”
